Alyson Schafer

Alyson Schafer is a psychotherapist and parenting expert. She hosts the live TV call-in advice show called "The Parenting Show" and is author of "Breaking the Good Mom Myth" published by Wiley Canada. Alyson is a Chapter's Indigo Trusted Advisor, reviewing and making recommendations to the consumer on parenting books. Alyson teaches parenting classes and works with parents one-on-one in her private parent coaching practice. She maintains a dynamic and content rich website with free parenting tips and advice that you can find at alyson.ca.

Alyson has been featured in articles in Today's Parent, Chatelaine, Canadian Living, Canadian Family and Reader's Digest. She has also interviewed by the CBC and CFRB as well as personal guest appearances on television's Yummy Mummy, BirthDays, Planet Parent, Agenda, Health on the Line, W-Live, the CHCH Morning Show and Toronto Tonight.

Alyson holds a Bachelors Degree in Sciences and a Masters Degree in Counselling. She is a certified parent coach and a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists, as well as the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. She is part of the governance of the North American Association of Adlerian Psychology.
